Rubi Rose Quick Bio / wiki

Who Is Rubi Rose?

Rubi Rose is an American rapper, songwriter, and model whose career began in the entertainment industry as a video model before she transitioned into music. She first caught public attention in 2016 as the lead model in Migos’ hit video “Bad and Boujee,” a role that introduced her to millions of viewers and set the stage for everything that followed.

Rather than staying in front of the camera for other artists, Rubi Rose used that visibility to build her own brand. She later appeared on an unreleased Playboi Carti track, signed with Hitco Entertainment (a label founded by music executive LA Reid), and released her debut mixtape, For the Streets, in December 2020. Since then, she has balanced music, modeling, and digital content as the three pillars of her career, earning her a reputation as one of the more versatile names to come out of the Atlanta hip-hop scene.

Rubi Rose Early Life and Family

Rubi Rose Benton was born on October 2, 1997, in Lexington, Kentucky. Her mother, Nardos Ghebrelu, immigrated from Eritrea and works as a dentist. She isn’t an only child — Rubi Rose has an older sister, Scarlette, and a younger sister, Coral. As a young child, her family relocated to Geneva, Switzerland, for about a year before eventually settling in the Atlanta, Georgia area. She spent her junior year of high school completing the move to Atlanta and graduated in 2015.

This blend of backgrounds — Eritrean, Black American, and Japanese heritage, combined with time spent in Europe and the American South — has shaped how Rubi Rose talks about identity and gives her family story more depth than the average celebrity bio.

Rubi Rose Career Timeline

Rubi Rose’s career path moved from modeling, to video appearances, to a full recording career. Here’s how it unfolded, year by year:

Early Career

Rubi Rose’s rise didn’t happen overnight. Before music, she built an Instagram following that caught the attention of casting directors in the music video world. That early visibility led to a role in rapper Raury’s “Cigarette Song” video, which in turn opened the door to the Migos opportunity that changed her career trajectory.

Breakthrough Single and Mixtape

After years as a video model, Rubi Rose made the leap into music in 2019 with “Trickin,” followed shortly by “Big Mouth” — the song most fans associate with her transition into a legitimate recording artist. Her 2020 mixtape, For the Streets, featuring guest spots from Future and PARTYNEXTDOOR, confirmed that she wasn’t just a model dabbling in rap; she had genuine artistic ambition. The project helped secure her spot on the respected XXL Freshman list in 2021, a recognition reserved for rising talent in hip-hop.

Recent Work

Rubi Rose has stayed active in recent years, signing with Mogul Vision under Interscope Records in 2023 and touring alongside Sexyy Red. Her 2024–2026 output, including “Cherry,” “Deserve to Die,” “It’s On,” and her newest single “Can I?”, shows an artist who continues to release music consistently rather than fading after an initial wave of attention.

Rubi Rose Musical Style and Influences

Rubi Rose’s music sits primarily in the trap and hardcore hip-hop space, known for bold, confident lyrics layered over bass-heavy production. She has cited Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, and Foxy Brown as rap influences, while her broader musical taste draws from Prince, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, and Chaka Khan — artists she grew up listening to and credits with shaping her sense of rhythm and vocal delivery.

This mix of old-school soul influence and modern trap style gives her music a slightly different flavor compared to many of her peers, something most competitor articles skip over entirely.

Rubi Rose Net Worth

Rubi Rose’s estimated net worth sits between $1.5 million and $2.5 million, depending on the source and the year of estimate. Her income comes from a combination of:

• Music royalties and streaming revenue from her mixtape and singles
• Modeling contracts and music video appearances

• Digital content platforms and social media sponsorships

It’s worth noting that net worth figures for public figures are rarely confirmed by the individual themselves — they’re estimates based on visible income streams, so treat any specific number as an approximation rather than a verified fact. What’s consistent across sources is that her income grew significantly after her 2020 mixtape release and 2023 label signing, both of which expanded her reach and earning potential.
